Yoga for Extension-Sensitive Backs
This beginner-level yoga practice was designed for a patient who had a lot of back pain, especially with extension movements (bending backwards). If you have similar issues, or have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, facet joint issues, anterolisthesis, or stenosis, this routine may be helpful for you, or at least introduce you to yoga without risk of major aggravation. Please consult with a healthcare professional for care first if you are in acute pain, and never perform a movement or posture in yoga if it is painful. Remember slow and steady gives more effective results as opposed to forcing your body to stretch or move in ways it isn’t ready for. I hope you enjoy and please get in touch with any questions, comments or suggestions for future posts. Thanks for watching!
