Mark Austin | PT
Mark was born and raised in Baie Verte, Newfoundland. He graduated with his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy with distinction at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland in 2013. He moved to Alberta in 2014 and has been working in private practice ever since.
Since becoming a physiotherapist, he has completed a number of certifications in manual therapy, concussion management, functional movement assessment, low back and neck pain assessment, and acupuncture. Through previous work, he has contributed to research published in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Physiotherapy Canada, Disability and Rehabilitation, Neuroscience Research, and more. He is registered with the Alberta Physiotherapy College to perform spinal manipulation and to use needles in practice.
Mark’s approach is both science-based and practical, and he strives to educate his clients in effective self-management to ensure long term success and independence.
When not in the clinic, he is completing his 200 hour yoga teacher certification, lifting weights in the gym, running, hiking, skiing, and spending time with his dog Harley.
