Kevin Arkko | PT
Kevin completed his undergraduate degree in Sports Performance at the U of A while playing football. He then went on to complete his master’s degree in Physiotherapy at the U of A as well. At this time he was working as a strength coach for the Alberta Sport Development Centre, teaching the fundamentals of Olympic weightlifting to junior level provincial athletes from backgrounds ranging from figure-skating to rugby to archery. Kevin was also the head coach for Special Olympics Edmonton Powerlifting, and he helped lead multiple athletes to new personal bests in the squat, bench and deadlift.
Kevin spent the past year working in spinal cord injury and has now made the move to private practice where he hopes to use his background in strength and conditioning to bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation and high-performance. He believes in an active approach to treatment, consisting largely of corrective exercises to help clients return to their desired level of function. Outside of work, Kevin competes in powerlifting but also enjoys getting outside for a run.
